Working as a joint venture with established insurer NV Versicherungen, innovative German insurance startup Haftpflicht Helden had a vision of disrupting the industry by providing on-the-go insurance for busy millennials. The company needed a payments solution that could provide a simple and fast UX across the mobile platform, scale well, and accept PayPal -- the leading payment method with German consumers.

Challenge

Haftpflicht Helden needed a payments partner that could provide a seamless mobile-payments experience for users. This focus on mobile optimization was key to the its business model: the company understood the high expectations of their millennial target audience.

Solution

Haftpflicht Helden implemented Braintree Direct, which allows acceptance of almost any payment method – including PayPal – with one simple and quick integration. These features played an important role in Haftpflicht Helden’s mobile strategy, bringing a frictionless checkout experience to its customers.

The Braintree solution was integrated within four months of the initial conversation with Haftpflicht Helden, allowing them to launch their mobile app quickly.

Outcome

One year after integration, Haftpflicht Helden has seen PayPal used as the payment method of choice for 43%* of transactions, with a significant number of all total conversions completed on the mobile channel.
