Attention Kiwis, Braintree is Coming to New Zealand!

Less than two months after announcing our APAC expansion into Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, we are continuing to do our part to help power the innovation we are seeing throughout the world with the announcement of our expansion into New Zealand. Businesses in New Zealand are eager for support from a global payments leader who provides gateway services and merchant support, coupled with easy access to features like the ability to accept relevant payment methods, frictionless buying, recurring billing, fraud tools and more with just one integration; and Braintree is happy to deliver.

“New Zealand has a vibrant startup and innovation community, and Braintree committed to expand here as a result of the support and encouragement of the community,” said Tyson Hackwood, Head of APAC, Braintree. “We look forward to seeing the use of the capabilities of the products within businesses who are ‘leading change’, locally in New Zealand, regionally and globally. Additionally, this is an important step as we now have the opportunity to offer a ‘Trans Tasman’ solution, extending the capability in the region.”

Starting today, we’re opening up our pilot program for New Zealand-based merchants. Once approved, merchants will be able to accept credit/debit cards and PayPal online and on mobile devices through the Braintree v.zero SDK.
