New Payment Gateway Feature to Make Reconciliation Even Easier

Last week we made the announcement that we are expanding our services internationally. We are working feverishly to implement our global payment processing solution. While we work towards this, we remain committed to being the best payment gateway provider in the industry for all of our current merchants. We’ve heard your feedback and are excited to announce some enhancements to our payment gateway.

First, we’ve launched features to help make the reconciliation process easier for you. Improvements to the settlement batch summary report will help you reconcile transaction data from the gateway against your bank statements. You’ll now have the ability to separate out American Express transactions from the report. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are all deposited into your bank account in one deposit. Because American Express handles their deposits separately, you’ll see these deposits into your bank as separate line items. This new feature will make it both faster and easier to reconcile deposits in your bank account with batches processed in the gateway.

Also new is the ability to download the settlement batch summary report in CSV format. This will make it easier for you to import settlement data into the applications you use for reconciliation and bookkeeping.

Second, we understand how vital payments are to your business, and we want to keep you up-to-date as we work to correct any disruptions to your payment processing. Our new Braintree Status page will keep you updated on any issues such as unusually slow payment processing or outages. We will also continue to proactively notify you of any major issues as they happen as well. You can quickly check the status of the payment gateway by clicking the status link in the footer on our website.

As always, we love hearing your feedback so please continue to email support@braintreepayments.com with your comments and suggestions.

Thanks,
Braintree Devs
