Here at Braintree, we understand how important it is for businesses to have the right partners in place, specifically when it comes to payments. That’s why we’re excited to announce the expansion of our APAC footprint beyond Australia into Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, providing local companies in these countries easy access to features like the ability to accept relevant payment methods, frictionless buying, recurring billing, fraud tools, multi-currency and more through the Braintree v.zero SDK.
As we’ve continued to expand to more than 40 countries around the globe, we’ve heard from many businesses in Asia looking for a payment platform that can enable them to build new experiences. We spent quite a bit of time building out our local team, talking to both startups and established businesses, to learn about the innovation driving these businesses. We were pleased to see first hand how trends in social commerce and the consumer’s expectation for a seamless buying experience are influencing mobile apps and websites locally, aligning with many of the features Braintree supports.
We’re fortunate to be launching our beta in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia with many great partners, and we’ll roll out additional countries across Asia soon. Businesses like Grain, a healthy lunch delivery app, Earth Hour, the non-profit that is uniting people to protect the planet, and Catch That Bus, a one-stop online booking portal for bus tickets, among others have already integrated Braintree to seamlessly accept payments. Additionally, Braintree merchants including Aston Club, Hailo, and Roller are expanding their operations and continue to rely on us in these new markets for their local subsidiaries. We are excited to see how these businesses continue to grow, as well as welcome new merchants.
