Facebook Joins Braintree to Provide One Touch Mobile Commerce

At Braintree we are committed to delivering great mobile commerce experiences for merchants and consumers and are always looking to fuel commerce in new ways. We’re proud to share that Facebook is testing a new product called Autofill with Facebook and is partnering with Braintree to make payments faster and easier in mobile applications. JackThreads and Mosaic, two Braintree merchants, are the first to test out this new feature.

With this integration, merchants using Braintree’s payment platform can enable single touch purchasing in their iOS apps for customers who have a card on file with Facebook. At checkout, customers will be presented with the option to complete their payment information in a single touch by clicking the “Autofill Your Info” button. Braintree takes over from there to process the payment as we normally would.

At Braintree we work hard to support the creation of new services and products that are good for the mobile ecosystem. We want to provide the building blocks for small developers, large e-commerce companies, social platforms and third party services to create simple and compelling experiences for consumers.

By working with Facebook, we are taking another step in our continued quest to make mobile commerce easier for as many merchants and consumers as possible.
