Our New Mobile SDKs
We're working on improvements for our mobile SDKs, and they’re almost ready!
One year ago
We released the last major version of our mobile SDKs (iOS 3.0, Android 1.0) a little over a year ago. Since then, we've seen significant changes in both the major mobile platforms as well as how our libraries are used.
Simplest integration yet
By simplifying interfaces and splitting up payment methods, we've focused our SDKs on making it as easy as possible to use the payment methods you want.
These new SDKs are the first to support tokenization keys, our new authorization scheme. Tokenization keys can be shipped with your apps without needing to generate a new key for each session.
Better PayPal experience
We've improved paying with PayPal to seamlessly switch between app and web. You'll be able to more effectively reach millions of PayPal users whether or not they have the PayPal app installed. Web login is improved so that users won't have to log in from scratch if they have used PayPal on the device before, reducing friction and helping increase conversion rates.
Smaller footprint
The new SDKs are our smallest yet. To save more room for the things that make your apps outstanding, we've slimmed down our code and dependencies. At 500 kilobytes or less on each platform, a minimal integration is now 50-75% smaller than before.
Better docs
We've improved our documentation to support the existing and new SDKs. You may now select docs that match your current version, defaulting to the latest final release. Each page focuses on either client or server code, so you won't have to worry about more than one language at once.
Stay in touch
If you'd like to be the first to know about our upcoming releases, join the Braintree SDK Announce mailing list. You'll be the first to know about the final release of our SDKs and any future beta releases.
We'll also be going into further detail on our docs design process and other enhancements soon, so stay tuned!
